		<description><![CDATA[+1 Jeff:  This is especially true in the type of consulting I do (Scrum/agile project guidance) where the customer is struggling on multiple fronts to get their ideas out about the product they want to bring into the world and how they want the team to do it.  It&#039;s critical to just keep quiet - even when you can&#039;t stand it and want to scratch the itch so bad it&#039;s like you wandered through a poison ivy patch.

I&#039;ve found that customers will, on balance, say something that wasn&#039;t considered before and leads to a deeper insight that wasn&#039;t laying on the table five minutes earlier.  And that can lead to some real game-changing breakthroughs.]]></description>

I enjoy your colourful way of summarizing your point :)  Outside of how deterimental it is to any relationship to cut people off, interrupt them, and/or finish their sentenses...  you correctly point out that we like to make &lt;b&gt;assumptions&lt;/b&gt; that we know what people are about to say, which results in getting the &lt;b&gt;wrong information&lt;/b&gt;.  It is wise for us to remember that people do not perceive things the same way so listening and confirming our understanding during communication become paramount to getting the right information.]]></description>
